Bike Recycling

Recyclistas is proud to contribute to the circular economy in Victoria.

One of the ways we do this is by offering a bicycle recycling service for the community.

We accept bicycles and bicycle-related items in any condition, and we then do our best to give them a new life.

Just drop your bike and bicycle-related items off anytime during our open hours – there is no need to make an appointment. Unfortunately, we are not able to do pick-ups.

Please be aware that we do not buy, trade, or consign bicycles, parts, or accessories.

Bikes donated to Recyclistas are used in a variety of ways:

New Riders

Refurbished by Recyclistas and sold for a new life with a new rider

For Kids

Fixed up by our partners and distributed to youth and kids who wouldn’t normally be able to afford a bike

Donations

Distributed to other community groups like Spokes, which connects university students to affordable bikes.

Parts

Any bike that isn’t fixable is stripped of all its usable parts that can be used to repair other bikes. The leftover metal is then recycled.

Schools

Used in local high schools to help students learn bike mechanics

Community

Sometimes people just need a bike, our by-donation pile helps individuals get parts or bikes.
